If you are unsure of what you should budget for your project, then you are in the right place and Codeable can help. It's perfectly understandable that you might not be exactly sure how much work something you are requesting should take.
Our project submission form does ask for budget, but if you are ever not sure you can just mention that in your project description and our experts will help you break down the costs. After all, Codeable provides free estimates for projects which are clear in requirements.
The reason we ask for budget when submitting a project is because Codeable helps with projects of all shapes and sizes, so it's more of a ball park, or a place for you to input if you do have a strict budget.
It should be noted that Codeable experts do not estimate based on your marked budget, rather, they are sensitive to it and will be willing to explain how an estimate breaks down for you. Estimates on Codeable are based on the approximate # of hours, complexity, and urgency of a project, not your market budget.
If you receive an estimate that is above your budget, it's always no obligation to hire and proceed here. But we would encourage you to continue the conversation at that point and see if your requirements can be reduced and then the estimate can also be reduced accordingly to maybe fit your budget.
